Research Areas

Our research is focused on the structure and folding of catalytic active RNAs and RNA/protein-complexes aiming towards a better understanding of the structure/function relationship. A second focus regards the formation and electronic coupling between DNA radicals in the context of DNA electron transfer. The central method used in both fields is modern pulsed/continuous wave Electron-Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR)-spectroscopy complemented by the synthesis of model compounds and new spin labels.
