Research Areas

The field of interest is located in the inorganic solid state chemistry and the development of new materials. The research focuses on the preparation and detailed characterization of metal-rich compounds, particularly with the nitride ion as constituent. Next to the structure determination of the new compounds the study of electronic and magnetic as well as mechanical and chemical properties is carried out. These data are of utmost importance for the understanding of the chemical bond and for potential applications.
