The C(II) isocyanides, that are well available since 1958, and their four-component-reaction (Ugi-Reaction, U-4CR) became an important part of synthetic chemistry. Since 1993 the multi-component reactions of up to eight educts became the industrially preferred methodology of preparing and searching for new products. Recently the stereoselective U-4CRs could be accomplished, too.
